Amy Wiles returns with her third single of 2025, an anthemic summer jam, ‘Dream Away’, alongside singer/songwriter Angel City.
Anjunabeats linchpin Amy Wiles kicked off the year running with a sold-out headline show at renowned London nightclub, Phonox. Amy then followed this up with ‘Heard It All Before’; a three-way collaboration with London-based DJ and producer, Leena Punks and Ukraine-born and Toronto-raised vocalist, flownastasia. Most recently, Amy released ‘Each Other’, combining her signature trance spin with an iconic 2000s sample of ‘2People’. Both singles received local UK support from various BBC Radio 1 DJs; Danny Howard, Jaguar, Arielle Free, as well as entering the rotation on SiriusXM.
Keeping with her personal style of building from her inspirations from classic trance music, ‘Dream Away’ brings this same upbeat Trance energy, matched perfectly with airy vocals from Angel City. The vocal and creative project of Lara McAllen, Angel City herself first became known for her early UK Top 10 hits from the early 2000’s, proving to be the perfect collaborator with Amy Wiles’ own sound.
Originally hitting US and UK dance and Billboard charts with her debut single ‘Love Me Right’ in 2003, Angel City went on to continued success in the following years with four more charting tracks. After a 10 year hiatus from music, Angel City returned to releasing music in 2023 and continues crafting a beautiful blend of melodic house with trance elements and keeping the nostalgic nod to the noughties dance sound she originally perfected.
“When Lara (Angel City) reached out and mentioned that she was relaunching her project and wanted to work on a track together, I instantly got excited and asked for her to send over some ideas. Angel City records back in the day were a big part of my childhood here in the U.K. I used to religiously watch Top Of The Pops every Friday night and I’d often see UK trance acts performing on there and get drawn to that style of music, so the fact that we have a collaboration now 20+ years later is wild to me and a real full circle moment.
Lara sent over 2-3 song ideas and ‘Dream Away’ stood out for me the most. It’s the first time I’ve ever worked with various songwriters and I can honestly say that every single person has added their touch to make this track what it is now. I then produced the record to match my own 2000s trance style and we made it sound a lot more euphoric and poppy! It’s not like anything I’m currently hearing out there at the moment, but I quite like that. It has that feeling of nostalgia whilst also bringing something fresh to the table. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s crazy to see the response already on TikTok from fans and I’m excited to finally get it out there!”
With Amy Wiles touring across a dozen upcoming shows in Singapore, Europe and the United States still to come over this summer, fans have several opportunities ahead to experience all this new music in person.
