After a lucky dodge leaves middleweight champion Speed McFarland (William Gargan) unconscious on the street, scheming promoter Gabby Sloan (Adolphe Menjou) transforms timid milkman Burleigh Sullivan (Harold Lloyd) into a boxing sensation through a string of carefully rigged victories. Believing his own manufactured hype, Burleigh must eventually step into the ring for a legitimate, wildly unpredictable championship rematch against Speed to prove he is more than just a dairy deliveryman.
