A wolf-raised jungle boy brings the law of fang and river back to a “mighty city” that forgot how to live with nature.
Raised from infancy by wolves, Mowgli (Sabu) learns the Law of the Jungle from Baloo, Bagheera and the other “Free Companions,” only to be driven into the human village where he must relearn speech, customs, and family—and face the fearful suspicions of storyteller-hunter Buldeo (Joseph Calleia), barber (John Qualen), pundit (Frank Puglia) and his own long-lost mother Messua (Rosemary DeCamp). When Mowgli discovers a forgotten king’s treasure with Mahala (Patricia O’Rourke) and vows to settle his old score with Shere Khan, greed and fire ignite a clash between village and jungle that ends in a blazing judgement and a bittersweet farewell.
