Courage, honor, and extreme military action at 10,000 feet! Eddie Slocum (Bobby Diamond), a naive Indiana farm boy, leaves his quiet life behind to volunteer for the legendary 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Eager to follow in his World War II hero uncle’s footsteps, Eddie is immediately thrown into the grueling grind of paratrooper basic training alongside a motley crew of draftees—including Rocky, a ruthless Chicago bully, and Mouse, a smooth-talking Bronx hustler. Mocked for his wholesome ways, Eddie slowly earns the respect of his tough-as-nails Drill Sergeants (including Hollywood stunt legend Whitney Hughes) and his fellow recruits. But as romance blooms with a local country girl, tension with Rocky boils over into dangerous physical conflict. Everything comes to a heart-pounding climax during the platoon’s first live night-jump, where a mid-air parachute collision leaves one soldier plummeting toward disaster.
Directed by James Landis, this vintage 1960s military action film delivers an authentic, high-octane look into Cold War era paratrooper training, armed forces camaraderie, and high-stakes aerial drama. An absolute must-watch for fans of vintage war movies, classic military cinema, 1960s action films, and retro American drama.
