Story:
Gridley is mining silver from an old Mexican mine and bringing it into the USA thru a passage into his worthless mine. Border guard Rogers suspects Gridley and finally finds the secret entrance to the Mexican mine. He sends Lee Madison for help only to have her captured by Gridley. Trigger brings help that takes care of Gridley’s men and now Roy has to rescue Madison.

bigger than life, Roy Rogers
Roy Rogers. and Trigger of course. with co-stars Dale Evans and Andy Devine, as usual. and Devine’s voice wasn’t even that scratchy yet in this one! when miners bring up silver through dubious sources, Roy investigates and brings the naughty ones to justice. some silly cowboy songs while they are tooling along in the stagecoach or sitting on the porch. pretty silly plotline, but it works if you just go along with it. everyone is wearing starched, brandy-new outfits. clean as ever. filmed in valley of fire, among other places. pretty red rocks, east and west of Las Vegas. fistfights. horses. made by Republic in spherical TruColor, later bought out by Paramount. directed by Bill Whitney; wrote a book about Trigger, the horse! story by writer Paul Gangelin. it’s barely okay. certain interesting for the Roy Rogers buffs. and some great photos of the actual mines at Goodsprings, if you look on the interwebs.
