Based on the events of 1937 in Nanjing, the film follows A Chang, a postman who pretends to be a photo developer to stay alive. As chaos unfolds around him, he risks everything to protect a group of civilians taking shelter in his studio—and to reveal the truth behind what’s happening in the occupied city.
