Review:
Strangely written spaghetti western
I know from many viewing experiences that Italian filmmakers have made their own share of strange films, westerns or other genres. While this spaghetti western isn’t constantly strange, its screenplay has some weird touches. There is a hero, but this hero doesn’t get to do or say as much as other spaghetti western heroes. In fact, most of the focus is on the bad guys he travels with! The hero’s actions also don’t make sense, with him trailing the bad guys for most of the movie, then suddenly making an out of the blue decision near the end that makes you wonder why he didn’t decide sooner. In fact, a lot of the rest of the movie could have gone a lot quicker. Still, the movie remains interesting, with a variety of different kind of scenes, as well as some decent action sequences. Fans of spaghetti westerns will probably find it offbeat enough to be entertaining. However, if you are just dipping your toe in the spaghetti western genre for the first time, you should probably hold off seeing this one until you have seen a lot of the well know ones first.
