In this feminist take on the modern vampire, teenage Mia goes through a bodily transformation as she reaches puberty. Along with her bodily changes, she begins to develop a bizarre lust for blood, deeming all sexual and romantic encounters impossible. As she grapples with how to appease this urge, she looks to her body for a solution: she learns that she does not have to hurt or bite anyone so long as she ingests her own menstrual blood.
