"Gummy" Director’s Statement:
Gummy was born from my fascination with masochism. At it’s heart, though, the short film is a story about unrequited love. For queer people, it is not an uncommon experience for us to be led on and used by heterosexuals as an experimental plaything. Gummy is a visceral peek into the demented world of Prudence, an outsider who only wanted to be loved back. Body Horror felt like the appropriate genre to explore such an unforgiving pain and the depravities it can induce.
