Ellie is a young woman living what is perceived as a perfectly constructed life. When a mysterious box arrives on her doorstep, the wounds of her past are reopened. A tape recorder sent by Simon – Ellie’s deceased and deranged ex boyfriend, reveals his disturbing intension to conjure the occult to initiate an ancient ritual that will reunite and bind the two for eternity. Ellie’s world and sanity begin to unravel as her sense of reality deteriorates. She must attempt to outrun her sinister fate and confront her trauma once and for all in order free herself from a horrifying reality.
Director’s Statement:
Trauma can be buried and kept locked away but can never be forgotten. It remains attached to you in some form, waiting to unveil itself. When suffering from extreme trauma, it can trap you within your own mind. I set out to make a film capturing that unraveling, both mentally and physically.
This film is a deep-rooted nightmare taking place inside of a vulnerable mind. Her trauma knows no distance and traps her in a room of confrontation. This story is about breaking a painful chain and moving forward, only to be pulled back into the abyss.
