Director’s Statement:
This story sparked from a simple question, ‘What if there’s a Korean ghost in Australia?’ When I grew up in Korea, I heard so many folktales that scared me to such an extent that I couldn’t visit the bathroom at night. I wanted to bring those chills to Australia, which I call home now. Ever since I became a mother, my biggest fear is something happening to my daughter. What if a malevolent presence (a Korean ghost) tries to take your baby while you are stuck in a place where you feel alone?
A lot of the sound effects that you hear in the short film were created using a traditional Korean string instrument called a haegeum. It still gives me goosebumps when I hear it!
