Miranda doesn’t like mum’s new boyfriend Johnny, but she likes to see her happy. When he takes them on a trip to the beach, things get a little hot headed. Miranda is accused of fantasising and is silenced by her mother. When they arrive at the beach car park, Miranda makes her way to the shore where she finds an old fisherman trapped under a shipwreck. The beach is deserted and there is no help in sight. When Miranda decides to wake the man from his deep sleep, she gets scared and runs back to tell her mum, but they don’t believe her. Again, her mother blames it on her imagination. To cool down the argument, Johnny intervenes and tells her the story of the Little Girl Eater, a monster that lives by the sea and only comes out to gobble up naughty little children. Miranda goes back to the sea with a rock and kills the fisherman, believing him to be the monster.
