More About "ZIT":
In ZIT, Gertrude wakes up on a day she’s been eagerly awaiting: the day she plans to ask her boss, Regina, for a major promotion. But as she looks in the mirror, her confidence is shattered when she finds a small zit smack in the middle of her forehead. The seemingly trivial blemish quickly spirals into a morning from hell, making her late to work and thrusting her into a chaotic day at the office.
Once there, Gerdie is immediately annoyed by her chipper cubicle mate, Fern—the office’s "girl next door," and everything Gertrude feels she’s not. Her irritation builds as she catches glimpses of her worsening zit, now pulsating and growing, yet no one else seems to notice it—even as it begins oozing blood. Tasked with setting up for the “all-hands” meeting, Gertrude faces another setback: some coworkers have eaten the donuts meant for the meeting, only adding to her mounting frustrations.
In a horrifying twist, as she hands out agendas, Gertrude realizes she’s accidentally printed her personal talking points about her promotion ambitions for everyone to see. Mortified, she retreats to her desk in tears, where a well-meaning offer of help from Fern only sets her off further. Just as she steels herself to make her pitch, Regina pulls her aside—only to inform her that the position has already gone to Fern.
At this crushing blow, Gertrude’s anxiety erupts. Covered in blood from her throbbing zit, we plunge into her psyche’s darkest depths, where her zit explodes in a chaotic release, coating Regina in a final burst of her anguish. The following day, Gertrude’s desk is ominously cleared, as a new office manager assumes the position she had fought so hard for.
