This story is reminiscent of The Twilight Zone and revolves around five soldiers on a mission. They soon find themselves trapped in a foxhole within an apparently deserted camp. Strange occurrences begin, such as being surrounded by mysterious, black-cloaked figures who neither fire at them nor cause harm, but simply watch, seemingly waiting for something. These and other bizarre events lead the soldiers to question whether they are alive or dead, marking the beginning of their struggle. Frequent flashbacks reveal connections between each soldier and people from their pasts, who had interactions with another member of the squad. The story delves into the age-old question of fate—whether it is predetermined or subject to human influence. One by one, four soldiers succumb to fate and disappear into the woods, never to be seen again. However, Captain Jason Briggs refuses to give up, and ultimately, it falls on him to discover if he can truly alter his own fate.
