Certified house tastemaker Melé returns with ‘Soul Makossa’, the next release from his forthcoming Defected LP. The record follows his 2026 collaboration ‘So High’ with UK rapper Jords and multi-faceted producer Wonky Logic, with its hip-hop influences and live instrumental feel attracting global radio attention and love from Danny Howard, Arielle Free and Jeremiah Asiamah on BBC Radio 1 in the UK. Melé’s club sets are defined by rhythmically diverse percussion and Afro house influences; these skills come to the fore on his latest Defected release ‘Soul Makossa’. Produced in collaboration with one of the world’s most acclaimed drummers, Shovell, the record brings together driving house with joyous brass fanfares to create a high-octane club smash. With upcoming sets at Defected’s flagship festival in Croatia and debut season at Chinois in Ibiza, Melés relationship with the revered London house institution continues to blossom with ‘Soul Makossa’.
