María Nicolasa (La India María) is a nun with highly unconventional methods, sent to a small village to help restore the local church. Fondly nicknamed "Sor Tequila" for her cheerful, headstrong nature and her habit of solving problems with a little shot of tequila in hand, the novice runs into the priest’s distrust and the abuses of a powerful local strongman. With her peculiar innocence, cunning, and unshakable faith, Sor Tequila will move heaven and earth to defend the peasants and bring joy back to the community.
