*What is “The Amityville Murders” about?*
A full year before the Lutz family moved into the infamous house at 112 Ocean Avenue, depicted in Amityville Horror (1979), Ronald "Butch" DeFeo Jr., the troubled 23-year-old son of Ronald and Louise DeFeo, took a .35 caliber lever-action rifle and fatally shot his parents along with his four unsuspecting siblings as they slept. DeFeo Jr. later claimed that relentless and haunting "voices" drove him to commit the horrific act. Convicted on six counts of second-degree murder, he remains incarcerated at the maximum-security Sullivan Correctional Facility in New York. Yet, the findings of the investigation remain clouded in mystery. Did Ronald truly sow the seeds of evil in the notorious Amityville house?
