By June 1942, the Japanese Navy dominates the Pacific. In a bold move to shift the tide of the war, a U.S. carrier group takes position near Midway, aiming to ambush the enemy fleet. During this critical confrontation, a U.S. Navy dive bomber crew is shot down and crashes into the ocean. Stranded at sea, the two men cling to hope as they await rescue—relying on a scrappy PBY Catalina crew dispatched to find any survivors. As days drift by in the vast, unforgiving expanse of the Pacific, and the likelihood of rescue dwindles, the downed airmen are forced to confront the possibility of death.
