In 1519, Juan Sebastián Elcano, a young man in debt, joins an expedition led by Magellan to find a route to the Moluca Islands for valuable spices. Along the journey, Elcano works as a helmsman, while the mission faces sabotage from a spy hired by the Portuguese. After Magellan’s death, Elcano is promoted to captain and leads the crew through dangerous waters, fighting against sabotage, starvation, and time to complete the first successful voyage around the world.
