Calcou collaborate with Jody Wisternoff and James Grant on ‘Screen’.
The German live electronic act, comprised of multi-instrumentalist Stefan Merz and vocalist Thea Alien, evolved from Stefan’s solo project into a fully realised duo with last year’s ‘Now, What? EP’ released on sister label Anjunadeep Explorations. Drawing inspiration from artists like Bonobo, Caribou and Christian Löffler, Calcou blend organic instrumentation with immersive electronic production, earning significant support from institutions like SiriusXM, press coverage from Clash Magazine and PLAYY. Magazine, and DJ support from Lane 8, Sultan + Shepard and Chris Luno. Best known for their incredible live performances, the duo make their debut appearance at Anjunadeep Explorations in Dhërmi this summer following standout festival sets at Feel Festival and Open Air Kino Festungsflimmern in Germany last year.
For James Grant and Jody Wisternoff, the track lands as part of long-awaited compilation album Anjunadeep 16. Earlier this year, the pair travelled to Tà Đùng National Park in Vietnam to film a stunning live DJ set showcasing the compilation. Anjunadeep 16 sees James and Jody curate a diverse array of deep, melodic, and progressive house, with contributions from artists spanning the Anjunadeep, Anjunachill, and Explorations rosters. The compilation provides a platform to welcome new talent to the label and for well-known names to showcase new sounds.
