"To The Beat" centers on 14-year-old twins Mia and Mackie Castillo, who have been passionate dancers since they were toddlers. Starting at the age of three, dancing has always been their true love. Despite dancing in different styles—Mia specializes in tap while Mackie prefers jazz—they always support each other through competitions and rehearsals. When their favorite pop star announces an online contest to find the most unique dance group for his next music video, the twins each decide to form their own teams to compete for a spot. They rally their friends and family to help them gather online votes. Meanwhile, their arch-rival and neighbor, Avery, who is also the best dancer around and knows it, uses her charm and resources to try to outdo them in the competition.
