A terrified French translator, Monsieur Dubec, arrives at 221B Baker Street with a harrowing story of abduction and extortion. Forced into a cab with blindfolded windows and driven to a secret location, Dubec was held at gunpoint and made to translate for a starving, tortured prisoner who resolutely refuses to sign over his family fortune. Though released with a warning to keep silent, the interpreter fears the hostage won’t survive another night. The biggest hurdle? Dubec has no idea where in London he was taken.
Sherlock Holmes (Ronald Howard) and Dr. Watson (Howard Marion-Crawford) must use every ounce of logical deduction to map out the route, track down the ruthless syndicate, and break into the hidden compound before the final signature is sealed with blood.
Directed by Steve Previn, this atmospheric 1950s adaptation stands out as one of the most suspenseful entries in the series, packed with high stakes, dark Victorian secrets, and brilliant detective work. Perfect for fans of classic TV thrillers, retro crime sagas, black-and-white cinema, and timeless murder mysteries!
